QUANTUM SENSING
Enabling the Most Precise Optical Fiber Sensing with High-Resolution
Traditional Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs) characterize optical fibers by transmitting light pulses and analyzing the time and intensity of the backscattered signals. However, conventional OTDRs often lack the spatial resolution and sensitivity required to detect small defects, localized losses, or fine temperature variations in demanding industrial environments.
By combining AUREA Technology’s core expertise in single-photon counting, ultrafast pulsed lasers, and high-precision timing electronics, a new generation of high-resolution OTDR systems has been developed. These advanced solutions from AUREA Technology deliver exceptional spatial resolution, enabling the accurate detection, localization, and characterization of defects, microbends, connectors, splices, and other discontinuities along optical fibers.
Their very high spatial resolution also makes them particularly suitable for distributed thermal sensing, allowing precise identification of localized temperature changes and thermal events over short and intermediate fiber lengths.
AUREA Technology develops high-spatial-resolution OTDR solutions for aeronautics, avionics, space, energy, and advanced industrial applications. These systems are especially well suited to multimode optical fibers (MMF) and plastic optical fibers (POF), providing ultra-high sensitivity and resolution beyond the capabilities of conventional OTDR instruments.
With superior accuracy, sensitivity, and defect-localization performance, AUREA Technology is redefining optical fiber diagnostics and thermal sensing for the most demanding industrial applications.
